Malaysian student Girrtigha Nayar, 18, has brought home a gold medal after competing at the 1st World Adimurai Silambam Championship 2026 in Kanniyakumari, India.
Girrtigha, a student at IJN University College (IJNUC), emerged as a world champion in Silambam, a traditional martial art that involves skilled and coordinated movements using a staff.
IJNUC celebrated her achievement while sharing Girrtigha’s journey, including the challenges she faced in preparing for the championship and what it meant to represent Malaysia on the international stage.
