Malaysian squash star S. Sivasangari successfully defended her women’s singles title at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, adding another gold medal to Malaysia’s campaign in Japan.

Competing at the Nagoya Kinjofuto Arena on 27 September, Sivasangari defeated India’s Anahat Singh 11-4, 11-4, 11-7 in straight games to claim the title and deliver Malaysia’s sixth gold medal of the Games.

The victory also earned Sivasangari an automatic qualification spot for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, where squash is set to make its Olympic debut.

The Kedah-born athlete previously won the women’s singles title at Hangzhou 2022, making her latest gold a successful Asian Games title defence and another major achievement in her career. 🏆👏
