Teams from several Malaysian agencies have been carrying out cloud-seeding operations across Sarawak to induce rainfall, increase water reserves and help reduce the effects of the haze. ☁️✈️
The video offers a behind-the-scenes look at the preparations, showing MetMalaysia personnel handling materials and equipment before they are brought aboard an aircraft for the cloud-seeding operation.
The coordinated effort involves the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA), Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) and Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), with operations targeting areas including Batang Ai, Bakun and Murum, as well as water catchment areas across Sarawak.
Authorities later reported that the operation successfully brought rainfall over the targeted Bakun and Murum Dam areas, while further cloud-seeding efforts continue when suitable clouds and weather conditions are available.
From preparations on the ground to operations in the air, the initiative highlights the coordinated work being carried out to bring much-needed rainfall and improve conditions in Sarawak. 🇲🇾🌧️
