A Grab driver only realised after completing his journey that the quiet passenger he had just driven home was Hijjas Kasturi, widely regarded as the Father of Malaysian Architecture. 🏙️🇲🇾

Known for his significant contribution to Malaysia’s architectural landscape, Hijjas Kasturi has played a role in shaping some of the country’s most recognisable buildings and the modern identity of its skyline.

Yet during the entire ride, the driver had no idea who was sitting in his car. It was only afterwards that he discovered the humble passenger he had been speaking with was one of Malaysia’s most prominent architects.

What left the biggest impression on the driver was not his achievements or reputation, but his character. He described Hijjas as polite, soft-spoken and full of adab, remaining remarkably down-to-earth throughout their interaction.

Sometimes, meeting an accomplished person unexpectedly leaves behind a lesson beyond their achievements. In this case, it was a reminder that no matter how far someone has gone in life, humility and good character can speak just as loudly as success. ❤️
